Each carbon dioxide molecule remains in the atmosphere for 10,000 years before it is broken down again in the natural cycle. However,CO2 heats up the planet. That is why it is so important that we convert all human activities toCO2-neutral as quickly as possible. The biggest construction site is our energy and heating supply. The climate-neutral transition is an ambitious goal.

So the questions are:

  • Can we cover 100% of our needs from renewable energy generation by 2045 - in Germany, in Europe, in the whole world?
  • Will there be enough raw materials?
  • Are the energy and heating transition towards circularity affordable?
  • What about industry?
  • What about mobility and transportation?
  • Is there enough land? Are we destroying nature and the landscape with renewables?
  • Are we creating new problems? Does the conversion mean sacrifice and poorer quality of life?
  • How can we be effective?

Many questions. We will explore them together and answer them according to the current state of affairs and on the basis of scientific research. Join the discussion!

Impulse giver: Jakob Leweke

Jakob studied environmental protection technology at the University of Stuttgart (final thesis on high-temperature fuel cells). Today he works for the IT service provider Sphera, which specializes in sustainable reporting. For example, he has been involved in eco-balance projects for buses and cars.

He follows all topics relating to renewable energy supply, alternative drives and sustainable mobility concepts with great interest. He not only looks at the problems, but also keeps up to date with technical innovations in order to be able to present interesting solutions for climate protection.
