The Baden-Württemberg Climate Protection Foundation is launching a new funding program to support citizen energy cooperatives (BEGs) in their work. The program is entitled "Citizens' energy cooperatives: strengthening climate-friendly energy through volunteering" and aims to promote volunteering in the energy transition. It supports BEGs, which act as important actors in the transfer of knowledge about renewable energies.

The aim of the program is to promote events at which knowledge is passed on to new energy cooperatives, interest groups and municipalities. This should help to drive forward the regional energy transition and increase acceptance of renewable energies.

Eligible formats include open citizen dialogs, excursions, specialist lectures, training courses and network meetings. BEGs in Baden-Württemberg can submit their applications until October 31, 2024.

This initiative offers a valuable opportunity to further strengthen engagement in the field of renewable energies and actively shape the energy transition.
