We recently introduced you to Stuttgart's Superblock transport trial in Augustenstrasse, which is implementing an innovative concept that redefines urban spaces. But there is one important aspect that we have not yet highlighted: car sharing is becoming "super sharing" with the Superblock. Our supporting member stadtmobil Stuttgart has come to this confident conclusion.

Background: the traffic trial is designed in such a way that residents can do without their own car. The district bounded by Rotebühlstrasse, Schwabstrasse, Reinsburgstrasse and Silberburgstrasse is well connected to public transport with two S-Bahn stations, things are much better for cyclists and those who still occasionally need a car can make use of seven stations/parking spaces from the car sharing provider stadtmobil in or directly at the Superblock. The highlight: with one stadtmobil car, you can save up to 20 private cars.

Here you can get an overview of the stations and the vehicles available there: https://stuttgart.stadtmobil.de/privatkunden/stationen/

From our point of view, Jan Lutz 's assessment of the traffic trial is also exciting. Jan is a marketing strategist at stadtmobil and a former pioneer in the real-world laboratory for sustainable mobility culture at the University of Stuttgart and emphasizes the sociological aspects of a project like this: "A lot of tact and sensitivity went into the discussions beforehand. With the 'Quartierswerkstatt Augustenstraße' association that was set up in the district and other players around the Merlin cultural center, there were always people on site who could be approached. The experiment has the potential to inspire cohesion, neighborliness and quality of life among residents - an increasingly important aspect in our complex world. Those who embrace it and get rid of old habits will be rewarded with a variety of new offers that do not require their own sacred plate. And if you can't do without it, there are various stadtmobil vehicles available."
